Welcome to Hotel 81 - Joo Chiat Singapore
The Joo Chiat district houses four of our Hotels: Hotel 81 Classic, Hotel 81 Opera, Hotel 81 Sakura and Hotel 81 Joo Chiat.
For travellers who are curious about the Malay culture, visit the Malay Village's offerings of traditional Malay artefacts, displays and cuisine. Daily cultural shows are available too. The area is particularly renowned for its authentic Malay cuisine so check out the Geylang Serai Market & Food Centre. Recommendations include the fried quail and nasi padang (rice with meat and vegetables cooked with spicy chilli). Alternatively, the quiet east-coast Katong suburbs offer you an interesting peek into the country's Peranakan culture. The 'laksa' (savoury Peranakan dish) zone in the Katong area is a food trip by itself.
East Coast Park, which plays host to a variety of activities such as fishing, bowling, cycling, windsurfing, canoeing, rollerblading and sailboarding, is about 15 minutes away by car or bus. The Geylang district with its colourful nightlife is located a mere 15 minutes walk away.
